Lisanne Barnes-Seymour, Soprano

 

Lisanne Barnes-Seymour, Soprano, has most recently performed with the Holy Cross Choir as a guest soloist in Handel’s Chandos Anthems, and in 2008 the role of “Mother” in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.  She has performed several roles including the title role of Patience by Gilbert and Sullivan, the “wicked stepsister” Naomi in Massenet’s Cinderella, and Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute.  Ms. Barnes-Seymour sang the soprano role in Lightmotif, commissioned for the Ruth Page Dance Company, both at the Ravinia Music Festival and on a regional tour.  She is a graduate of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and completed a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy at Northeastern Illinois University under the direction of Dr. Ronald Combs.   Ms. Barnes-Seymour has taught private voice for ten years and currently teaches voice at New Trier High School in Winnetka.  She is a cantor at St. John Berchman’s church in Chicago and has been a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus since 2003.
