Partners in Song: Lyrics and Tunes Sunday, November 14, 2010 4:00 PM Raue Center for the Arts
Voices in Harmony will explore the great duos of songwriting, lyricists and composers working together to create some of the most beautiful and expressive music. Think George and Ira Gershwin, Rogers and Hammerstein, Learner and Lowe, Bernstein and Sondheim– the list is almost endless! This will be a program sure to please the ear and the soul.
Sing-Along Messiah Sunday, December 12, 2010 4:00 PM Raue Center for the Arts
Community and choir join their voices in harmony with Handel’s great masterwork. It is presented with a 25-piece orchestra, excellent soloists and projections of beautiful calligraphy by Timothy Botts on the texts being sung. The chorus of McHenry County College will supplement the on-stage choir leading the audience. This is one of our area’s most meaningful holiday traditions.

Heartland Voices, Dr. John Slawson, Artistic Director/Principal Conductor, will join with Voices in Harmony for a celebration of vocal music. Heartland Voices, based in Elgin, will bring their unique artistry together with VIH to provide a richly varied and dynamic program presenting the best of the choral art. This is sure to be a memorable concert experience. |
